A readiness and capability diagnostic that tells a sponsor which portfolio company interventions can credibly deliver value and which need capability, data or dependency gaps closed first. It also shows whether the evidence-backed plan reaches the return target.
The 13 sections
The diagnostic sets out the decision it supports, the inputs it needs, and an evidence hierarchy that limits scores where the evidence is weak. It gives a step-by-step scoring method with formulas, anchored descriptions for six readiness dimensions, gating rules, and a routine for calibrating scores across reviewers. Execution, governance and KPI tables connect the results to owners, approval gates and benefit tracking. A fully worked synthetic case is included with a failure case, an alternate scenario and a calibration exercise. Four copyable tools are provided: a scoring sheet, a gap register, a calibration worksheet and a value coverage worksheet.
